Board meeting Community Center “Op-Weule”, Brussels, 2020
When the second wave of the corona pandemy in Belgium wasn’t in full force yet, meetings in person were still possible, but with social distancing. It was the last time that year we could have a board meeting in Community Center Op-Weule in Brussels. As vice-chairman of the board, I organised a workshop-like discussion with the board, to get familiar with the long-term plan of the cultural policy in the municipality aimed at the Dutch (Flemish) speaking inhabitants. As Community center, whose services are aimed at the local Dutch speaking community (in a merely francophone municipality),Op-Weule has been closely involved in the development of this long-term planning (“Cultuur Beleidsplan”).

The workshops and training in this programme were aimed at getting familiar with the new standards and requirements, and implementing them in way of working of the organisation. Using participatory workshops, workers, staff and management were involved in creating and implementing the Quality Standards, to make sure they were carried and supported by the whole organisation.
